The very first thing I learned in design school — back in 2011 — was how to build a moodboard.

Every project started with one. It was how we defined the feeling before anything else.

Fifteen years later, I use them every day. Except now I’m doing it for couples planning their weddings.

A clear moodboard might be the most useful thing you make during your entire engagement.

Why every vendor on your list needs one

Every vendor who works on your wedding is making creative decisions on your behalf.

Your florist can see immediately whether you mean “wildflower casual” or “garden romantic” — because those look completely different and cost completely different amounts.
